Don’t be fooled by its miniscule size. Sony’s HXR-MC50U HD camcorder may fit comfortably in the palm of your hand, but with it comes a small world of big possibilities. This little camera has the ability to shoot 12 mega pixel still images as well as deliver 1920x1080i high-definition video, low light capability for nighttime shooting, an intuitive touch screen viewfinder, a detachable shotgun microphone, and a built-in GPS that keeps track of locations.

SVN had a chance to use one last week at the ISTE conference Denver and all of us were amazed with its performance, size and most importantly to schools, its price performance.

This compact camera  is perfect for  integrating video into the classroom, movie making, video yearbooks, documentaries and television production.

Designed for performance, built for convenience, and packed with intelligent features, this is the small camera with big capabilities.

This camera has a built in-in 64GB solid state hard disk drive which can store up to six hours of HD video footage in FX mode.  Alternatively the media card slot accepts Memory Stick Duo / Memory Stick PRO Duo / Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo and SD/SDHC/SDXC media cards.
