SIGCS, the Special Interest Group for Computer Science, provides a forum for MACUL members interested in computer programming. Through the list serve and two or three workshops a year, members discuss and experience new computer science topics. The SIG also plays a role in the development of requirements for computer science teachers. A special topic for SIGCS is the Advanced Placement test in Computer Science. Members regularly share information about course content and AP workshops. If you want to share with others interested in computer science. Join SIGCS and attend our workshops. The Special Interest Group for Elementary Education (SIGEE) provides age appropriate computer related material and training to elementary educators across the state of Michigan. SIGEE is a network of elementary educators who have a strong interest in utilizing technology with K-6 students. SIGEE strives to provide elementary educators with the tools necessary to successfully integrate technology into the K-6 curriculum. SIGEE hosts workshops with the goal of sharing strategies and resources that will assist teachers as they develop engaging lessons to implement in their classrooms. The Special Interest Group of Multimedia (SIGMM) focuses on all of the many digital technology possibilities in classroom presenting and publishing. We sponsor presentations, workshops and other events that give Michigan educators opportunities to learn how to use video, photography, Hyperstudio, PowerPoint, World Wide Web, Virtual Reality environments, animation and music to build their own classroom projects. SIGSpEd is the Special Interest Group for all educators that address assistive technology issues. The mission of Sig Sped is to provide assistive technology resources, support and training to educators as they strive to meet students’ diverse learning needs. We believe that assistive technology enables students with a wide range of abilities, learning styles and means of expression to actively engage in the curriculum. SIGTC is the Special Interest Group for Technology Coordinators. However, because job descriptions and responsibility of technology coordinators vary so dramatically from district to district, we invite any and all educators, who are concerned with the effective implementation of technology into our schools to participate in SIGTC. SIGTC has addressed a variety of issues over the years. It has focused on technology-based professional development, integrating technology into the curriculum, and technology planning: budgets, hardware, and software. We are also actively involved with groups that are addressing the technology staffing issue. SIGTE is a Special Interest Group for Teacher Education formed to support pre-service students, faculty, and K-12 educators who are involved with the professional preparation of future teachers. The goal of this SIG is to provide resources and leadership to its members by sponsoring a variety of technology-related activities including: presentations, mini-conferences, exchange of ideas and resources related to structural technology. SIGTE members include higher education faculty teaching in graduate and undergraduate programs, graduate students, Pre K-12 teachers, and all educators involved in the student teaching experience. Special Interest Group for Technicians or SIGTECH is the group SIGTECH is committed to serving those that implement and support technology tools and solutions in educational setting across the The Special Interest Group for TeleLearning (SIGTELE) provides a forum for educators who are involved with or interested in learning about wikis, blogs, RSS feeds, distance learning, online learning, video conferencing and technology integration. The SIGTELE community includes members with various levels of expertise on these TeleLearning topics. An active, but not overwhelming, listserv facilitates virtual discussions and learning opportunities where members collaborate. SIGWEB the Special Interest Group for Webmasters is designed to help educators build, use, and maintain web based tools for teaching and learning. Our membership includes a wide range of individuals involved in variety of areas of education.
